Position Summary As a Cake Decorator you will drive member service in your area to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will work collaboratively with other associates to ensure the total club meets the members’ expectations. Responsibilities Be a Team Member: Collaborates with cross‑functional teams and helps educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources; communicates and develops interpersonal skills for providing customer service; is flexible to business needs, maintaining in‑stock levels and controlling shrinkage. Be an Expert: Plans bakery production ensuring consistency in quality and accuracy of decorative designs following recipe and measurement instructions; works with a variety of products, including decorating bags and tips, to create decorative flowers and lettering on bakery items; ensures adherence to food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold chain compliance, and inventory management; operates, maintains, and sanitizes equipment while demonstrating understanding of product and layout execution. Be a Techie: Leverages digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement; utilizes handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, merchandise ordering, training, and product quality; adapts to new tools and encourages others to use them. Be an Owner: Drives performance of the bakery area ensuring quality and date‑control standards; eliminates waste; prepares for seasonal events that impact volume (e.g., holidays, graduations, family events); identifies member needs and assists members with purchasing decisions and resolves member issues and concerns. Be a Talent Ambassador: Acts as a brand advocate by valuing the member’s experience in the bakery and modeling high‑quality service and products; interacts with associates to understand roadblocks and assists in training, influencing, and inspiring them to work in a respectful, supportive, and team‑oriented style. Complies with company policies and procedures, upholding ethics and integrity by implementing action plans and using the Open Door Policy in executing business processes and practices. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Six months’ experience in the Fresh Production Area. Must be 18 years of age or older. Successfully complete all required training and assessments within a prescribed time period. Preferred Qualifications: Cake Decorating. The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 to $27.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.
