CDL - Rigger

Job Summary The PLR CDL/Rigger supports the crane operators on job tasks before, during, and following the operation of the crane. Provides rigging operation and hand signals to ensure safe lifting of the load. Responsibilities Operate within DOT laws and regulations. Represent the company professionally. Assist the crane operator in the maintenance of the crane and accessory equipment (i.e., pickup trucks, haul trucks, trailers, etc.). Assist the crane operator in the proper set‑up/tear‑down of the equipment. Inspect truck and trailer and fill out truck inspection report before operating the vehicle and turn in the report to the proper supervisor. Report mechanical defects in writing on the truck and/or trailers to the shop technician or a supervisor. Monitor inventory of the chains, boomers, and straps assigned to the truck and report missing equipment to the supervisor. Inspect, clean, and perform maintenance on chains, boomers, and straps. Monitor the annual state inspection and state license plates and report to the supervisor one month in advance before the expiration date. Assemble and install supporting structures, rigging, hoist, and pulling gear. Connect pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures with bolts, shackles, and clamps. Clean and dress machines and surfaces of parts. Control movements of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces. Dismantle, maintain, and store rigging equipment. Manipulate rigging lines, hoist to move or support materials, steel, and concrete. Select gears, cables, and shackles according to load size, facilities, and work schedule. Signal or give direction to workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure the safety of workers and materials. Inspect rigging to ensure safety and reliability before engaging in hoisting and lifting. Complete ProLift Specific, Regulatory and Identified Equipment training through our internal LMS system. Complete 3rd party and customer‑required training to gain on‑site access as needed. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Clean MVR required. General crane knowledge. Excellent mechanical reasoning. Good perception of math applications, weights, measurement, and balance. Must be flexible with schedule, able to travel, and able to work overtime. Must be able to lift 75 lbs. Rigging experience required. Knowledge of crane hand signals required. Flexibility to travel is a must, which may include weekends and overnight stays. Communication skills. Reasoning ability. HS diploma or equivalent required. Must pass a drug test and background check. Certifications, Licenses and Registrations CDL – Class A required.
