Registered Nurse - Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)

Location: New York

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Day shift from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM

Job Description: The Registered Nurse will work in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), providing care for patients with complex medical needs. The unit typically cares for patients requiring step-down supervision and specialized interventions, including neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory support.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care for patients aged 18 and older in an IMCU setting.
• Monitor and assess patients with neurological, cardiac, respiratory, and postoperative conditions.
• Utilize specialized equipment such as temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, and mechanical ventilation.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Document patient care accurately in the EMR system (EPIC).

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Active New York State RN license.
• Current certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) or Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
• Experience with electronic medical records, specifically EPIC.
• Drivers license with an address matching demographics.
• NURSYS report for licenses verification.
