Psychiatric Nursing Assistant

Summary About the Position: The incumbent will perform full range of receptionist, record-keeping, and miscellaneous clerical duties. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. - Process patients for admission by searching belongings for contraband, obtaining inpatient/outpatient records, preparing patient charts with proper forms, and assigning beds.
- Take patient vital signs and documents in EMR.
- Collect information from personal interview, medical records, medical personnel, and any other concerned person in order to obtain a thorough clinical history.
- Provide assistance, security, and patient comfort.
- Assist in coordinating activities and encourages participation by patients.
- Maintain accountability of patients during outdoor activities, meals, and other activities.
- Escort patients safely on and off the unit; knows the patient management procedures for elopement risks.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is required to be screened for and obtain necessary immunizations/vaccinations (hepatitis, influenza, etc.), unless exempted by a licensed physician.
- This position is required to work uncommon tours of duty hours such as, on-call, working either fixed or rotating shifts, evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
- This position is designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent may be required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position is subject to TDY or business travel requirements to various locations. This may require travel via privately owned vehicles, commercial transport platforms, and/or military aircraft, ships, and vehicles.
- This position requires a pre-employment physical annually and thereafter.
- This position is designated Tier 3, Non-Critical Sensitive, Moderate Risk and requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance Level as a condition of employment.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 50lbs.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11.
- This position requires Basic Life Support training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. Current Advanced Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede BLS completion.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
- Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.

- Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.

- Developmental/Multi-Grade
- Position may be filled at the GS-3/4 target GS-5. Duties described reflect the full performance GS-5 level. Duties will be performed in a developmental capacity under close supervision. This recruitment provides promotion opportunity to the target grade of the position without further competition when selectee is eligible and recommended by management.
- Management may select at any of the grade levels announced.
