Description
  • Evaluate patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups using standardized assessments and insightful observational methods.
  • Create individualized treatment plans that cater to both immediate needs and long-range communication and swallowing goals.
  • Deliver focused, one-on-one speech therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians to formulate comprehensive care strategies.
  • Provide necessary education to patients and families to reinforce progress and continuity outside the clinical setting.
  • Conduct occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless patient care throughout the treatment process.
  • Uphold accurate documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organization protocols.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through education and collaboration with peers to remain abreast of industry advancements.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if the ASHA certification is not yet obtained.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be achieved within 30 days of starting employment.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based interventions for all age groups, with robust knowledge of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, and a collaborative care team.
  • Ability to modify therapy methods to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Sound clinical judgment combined with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in electronic medical records and documentation standards.
