Associate Medical Director

Trustbridge Hospice , a member of Empath Health, is seeking a full-time Associate Medical Director to provide medical oversight and leadership for hospice patients and their families across Broward County. The Associate Medical Director will oversee the medical direction of the care and treatment of Hospice patients, both in-patient and field, as well as serving as a physician consult for Palliative Care patients within the Empath Health. care. What you’ll Do Provides symptom control expertise and communicates with the APRN and/or RN to evaluate and initiate treatments for pain/symptom management. This is primarily completed through in person visits. Collaborates with the RN to create and implement the appropriate plan of care. Collaborates with the patient’s attending physician as needed to develop and update the patient’s plan of care, ensure the provision of direct medical services to ensure pain and symptom management. Serves as a medical resource and educator to staff, patients, families and attending physicians regarding admission criteria, pain and symptom control management, and end of life care. What You’ll Need M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school and Board Certified in a related specialty. Current Florida license to practice medicine issued pursuant to Florida Statute 458 or 459. Minimum of two (2) years’ recent active practice with direct clinical medical care experience. Certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine strongly preferred. Hospital staff privileges at one or more hospitals commonly serving patients in the service area strongly preferred.
