The Workforce Outreach Coordinator supports the organization's apprenticeship and workforce development initiatives by developing and maintaining relationships with educational institutions, workforce organizations, community partners, and industry associations to strengthen the electrical talent pipeline. Reporting to the Director of 5K Training & Development, this position serves as a key representative of Hays Electrical Services by coordinating outreach activities, attending recruitment events, managing partner relationships, and promoting apprenticeship opportunities. The Workforce Outreach Coordinator plays a critical role in expanding community engagement, increasing program awareness, and supporting recruitment efforts that contribute to the long-term success of the company's registered apprenticeship program. Key Responsibilities • Represent Hays Electrical Services at career fairs, trade days, apprenticeship expos, workforce development events, high school career days, technical college events, industry conferences, and community outreach activities to promote apprenticeship opportunities and strengthen the company's presence within the community.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with school districts, high schools, technical
colleges, universities, workforce boards, IEC, CEF, community organizations, military transition
programs, and other strategic partners to support workforce development initiatives.
• Coordinate and schedule outreach activities, presentations, campus visits, partner meetings,
facility tours, classroom presentations, and apprenticeship information sessions while maintaining
an annual outreach and recruitment calendar.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain outreach materials including presentations, brochures, flyers,
promotional items, event displays, recruitment packets, branded merchandise, and digital
marketing resources tailored to various audiences.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective apprentices, educators, counselors, workforce
partners, and community organizations by providing information regarding apprenticeship
opportunities, career pathways, and program requirements.
• Assist the Director of 5K Training & Development with recruitment initiatives by identifying new partnership opportunities, supporting recruitment strategies, and expanding community engagement efforts that increase applicant interest and program enrollment.
• Coordinate facility tours and on-site visits for students, educators, workforce organizations, and community partners while ensuring a professional and engaging visitor experience.
• Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, partner engagement, event participation, recruitment metrics,prospective applicant inquiries, and community partnerships to support reporting and continuous improvement efforts.
• Monitor outreach trends, workforce development initiatives, and labor market opportunities while recommending strategies that improve community engagement, recruitment effectiveness, and partnership growth.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to develop outreach campaigns, social media
content, promotional materials, and branding initiatives that effectively communicate
apprenticeship opportunities and workforce development programs.
• Support workforce development events, apprenticeship graduations, signing ceremonies,
recognition programs, and other special events by coordinating logistics, materials, registration,
and event execution.
• Provide administrative support to the 5K Training & Development department, including
scheduling meetings, maintaining partner databases, preparing reports, tracking outreach
activities, and assisting with special projects as assigned. Qualifications & Skills
Required
• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Communications,
Marketing, Business Administration, Human Resources, Workforce Development, Education,
Public Relations, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of experience in community outreach, workforce
development, recruiting, marketing, education, public relations, event coordination, or a related
field.
• Experience planning and coordinating meetings, events, presentations, or community
engagement activities.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with
schools, educators, workforce organizations, community partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with
diverse audiences.
• Strong organizational, project coordination, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to travel locally to schools, career fairs, community events, and partner meetings;
occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. Preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Workforce Development, Education, Marketing, Communications, Business
Administration, or a related field.
• Experience supporting apprenticeship programs, workforce development initiatives, skilled trades recruitment, or educational outreach.
• Experience working with K-12 school districts, technical colleges, workforce boards, IEC, CEF, or similar educational and workforce organizations.
• Experience presenting to students, educators, community organizations, or professional groups.
• Familiarity with apprenticeship programs, career and technical education (CTE), or skilled trades
career pathways.
• Experience using CRM, event management, or marketing platforms to track outreach activities and engagement.
