Role Description The General Contractor at Kosington will oversee and coordinate residential renovation and construction projects that support property preparation and enhancement. This full‑time, hybrid role is based in Jersey City, NJ, with some work‑from‑home flexibility for planning, documentation, and coordination tasks. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include assessing property conditions, scoping work, creating project plans, and managing budgets and schedules. The General Contractor will hire and supervise subcontractors, ensure work adheres to building codes and safety standards, and maintain clear communication with internal real estate teams and clients. The role also involves quality control inspections, resolving on‑site issues, securing necessary permits, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Qualifications General Contracting and Construction skills to oversee residential builds, repairs, and property improvements. Construction Management and Project Management skills to plan, schedule, budget, and coordinate multiple projects. Renovation experience to manage interior and exterior upgrades that increase property value and market appeal. Strong knowledge of local building codes, permitting processes, and safety regulations. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents. Proven experience leading field teams and supervising subcontractors in residential settings. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with real estate professionals, vendors, and clients. Solid problem‑solving skills and attention to detail in scheduling, quality control, and cost management. Relevant certifications or licenses as a General Contractor in New Jersey are strongly preferred.
