Oncology RN

The Oncology Nurse is responsible for providing specialized nursing care in an outpatient setting, focusing on infusion therapy, chemotherapy, and wound care. This role involves cultivating strong patient relationships, performing a broad range of general nursing duties, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. The position requires critical thinking, effective communication, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team. Responsibilities:

• Administer infusion therapy and chemotherapy treatments in an outpatient setting.
• Provide wound care management as needed.
• Perform patient assessments and monitor for adverse reactions to medications and treatments.
• Maintain infection control standards and patient safety protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans.
• Establish and maintain nurturing relationships with patients to support their care journey.
• Manage sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.
• Adapt to a variety of general nursing duties in a rural healthcare environment.
• Participate in ongoing education and maintain certifications relevant to oncology nursing.

• Current ONS Provider certification.
• Active, unencumbered RN license in Utah or a compact state.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Knowledge of infection control principles and patient safety techniques.
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills in dynamic clinical situations.
• Strong oral, written, and listening communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
• Full COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.

• Current Wound Care certification.
• Experience or interest in rural healthcare settings.
• Flexibility to accept additional duties as assigned.

• Work is performed in an outpatient oncology setting with a focus on infusion and chemotherapy.
• Emotional maturity and ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally are essential.
• Must be reliable and punctual with the work schedule.
• Position requires a self-motivated individual capable of working independently and as part of a team.

• Day shift from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Contract length of 13 weeks with potential for steady year-round employment.
