ModCorr offers rapid, efficient delivery and setup of minimum to maximum security correctional facilities and specialty units. All products are constructed offsite in a controlled environment and conform to the same building codes as traditional construction. ModCorr’s safe, secure and high-quality units comply with all American Correctional Association (ACA) and American with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
Position SummaryThe QA/QC Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring that all prefabrication processes and products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. This position is responsible for inspecting raw materials, in-process work, and finished products to ensure they meet blueprints, technical specifications, and client requirements. The QA/QC Inspector supports continuous improvement efforts, identifies non-conformances, and collaborates with production teams to resolve quality issues and maintain compliance with industry standards, including ISO requirements.
This position reports directly to the Director of QA/QC (or designated supervisor) and works closely with production, engineering, and project teams. Key ResponsibilitiesInspection & Testing- Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of raw materials, subassemblies, and finished products.
- Verify conformity to specifications, blueprints, and industry standards.
- Utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection instruments.
- Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, including logs of non-conformances.
- Prepare and distribute inspection reports to supervisors, engineers, and management.
- Communicate quality issues clearly and promptly to relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to ISO standards, company quality policies, and customer requirements.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits.
- Support the enforcement of quality procedures throughout fabrication and assembly processes.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to determine root causes of defects.
- Recommend and support corrective actions to eliminate quality issues.
- Provide feedback to help improve manufacturing and inspection processes.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of quality control procedures.
- Suggest and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality.
- High school diploma or GED required. Additional certifications or training in quality control or inspection preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in quality inspection within a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with metal fabrication processes and tolerances preferred. - Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects and deviations.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality standards preferred.
- Welding experience and/or SPC (Statistical Process Control) knowledge a plus.
The QA/QC Inspector will primarily work in a fabrication shop setting with exposure to machinery, equipment, noise, and potential hazards. The role also includes office-based tasks for documentation and reporting. Safety is critical, and all company safety procedures must be followed, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Physical Demands:
- Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
- Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
- Occasional lifting (up to 30 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
- Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).
- Work in an environment ranging between approximately 30- & 90 degrees Fahrenheit
