Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate, and efficient care to patients in a dynamic emergency department setting. The ED RN works collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, conducts critical patient assessments, and ensures optimal outcomes while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality.The ED RN performs initial and ongoing assessments of patients' physical and emotional health. Administers medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed. Monitors and documents patient responses to care and adjusts plans as necessary. Provides education to patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up care.Triages patients effectively to prioritize care based on the severity of illness or injury. Assists in resuscitation, stabilization, and advanced life support procedures during emergencies. Operates and maintains emergency equipment, including defibrillators, monitors, and ventilators.Works closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare team members to coordinate care. Communicates patient status, changes, and care plans clearly to team members and families. Participates in interdisciplinary rounds and case discussions.Adheres to established protocols, policies, and regulatory requirements. Maintains accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR). Promotes and maintains a safe environment for patients and staff by following infection control and safety protocols.Participates in continuing education and training programs to stay current with best practices. Contributes to quality improvement initiatives and emergency department performance metrics.Current RN license in the state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an emergency or critical care setting preferred. Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, which demands physical stamina and emotional resilience. The role includes frequent standing, walking, and lifting of patients or equipment, along with possible exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials.Clinical judgment and decision-making.
