Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' respiratory status through detailed evaluations of vital signs, lung sounds, and physiology knowledge to determine appropriate therapy plans

• Administer respiratory treatments and medications, including oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and ventilator support

• Manage and operate a variety of respiratory devices such as ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP machines, and other critical care equipment

• Monitor patients' responses to therapy continuously, adjusting ventilator settings and airway management strategies as needed for optimal outcomes

• Respond promptly to cardiac arrest emergencies and participate in emergency response protocols such as neonatal resuscitation procedures and airway management during acute crises

• Document all patient interactions accurately within Electronic Health Records (EHR) or Electronic Medical Records (EMR), ensuring compliance with hospital policies

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans for patients

Requirements:

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license or certification recognized by relevant health authorities

• Proven hospital experience with a focus on critical care environments such as ICU, emergency medicine, or trauma centers

• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pulmonology, and medical terminology related to respiratory health

• Hands-on experience with ventilator management, airway management techniques, and neonatal resuscitation procedures

• Ability to perform patient assessment accurately and respond swiftly during emergencies like cardiac arrest or respiratory distress

• Proficiency in operating medical equipment including ventilators, monitors for vital signs, and other respiratory devices

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred for critical care roles

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams across inpatient and outpatient settings
