Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring 2+ years of experience, including direct fresh open-heart admissions and advanced cardiac monitoring skills.

Details

• Hospital-based CVICU setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), including weekdays and weekends
• Patient ratio of 1:2, based on acuity, with potential for step-down level overflow patients
• Patients include direct fresh open-heart admissions from the OR and complex cardiac surgery cases
• Procedures and monitoring include ACT (Activated Clotting Time), Swan-Ganz catheter management, Impella monitoring, and CRRT
• EMR: Cerner
• Extension beyond the initial 13-week contract is possible
• Blocked schedules will only be considered for weekend-only requests (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon)

Requirements

• Active WV RN license or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU or cardiac surgery nursing experience required
• ACT (Activated Clotting Time) experience required
• Experience with direct fresh open-heart admissions from the OR required
• Proficiency in pressure monitoring, Swan-Ganz catheter management, Impella monitoring, and CRRT required
• Two manager or charge nurse references (within the past 2 years) required for consideration
• Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

• Care for post-operative cardiac surgery patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring and support
• Travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrubs are not provided by the facility
