Lead Plant Operator (Shift Supervisor)

Shift Lead OperatorThe Shift Lead Operator is in charge of overseeing the daily functions at the plant. This individual will supervise the implementation of the Operational Plan and identify areas for enhancement to ensure the facility’s success. The Lead Operator will guarantee the facility runs safely and complies with all environmental and reliability regulations. This pivotal role will aim to achieve revenue targets by consistently producing optimal megawatt output.Responsibilities include:Create and maintain a safe work environment for employees, contractors, and visitors, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and procedures.Lead, train and develop plant operators to achieve operational outputs efficiently and safely.Prioritize operational tasks related to maintenance activities.Assess the effectiveness of electrical outputs in relation to operational goals.Supervise all operational tasks at the facility, utilizing operational data for optimization and efficiency.Report plant emergencies promptly to Plant Management and take necessary corrective actions.Monitor operational data, log-sheets, and maintenance activities to ensure proper equipment functionality and system optimization.Address HR and Collective Bargaining issues promptly to the Operations Manager.Provide guidance on equipment conditions and maintenance to the Maintenance department.Manage the plant’s QA/QC Manual, ensuring environmental compliance and reporting incidents as necessary.Experience and qualifications include:Minimum of five years experience in power plant operations.At least three years of combined cycle experience.Formal training such as a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.Experience with gas turbine operations is highly desired.Strong communication skills, ability to supervise craft employees, and commitment to personal growth.Qualifications and requirements include:Role requires shift work with extended hours and flexibility for emergencies.Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.Compliance with environmental regulations and response protocols.Ensuring operational compliance with OEM guidelines and industry best practices.Effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.Physical capability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in challenging environments.Ability to wear required safety gear and pass pre-employment screenings.Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States.The duties and requirements outlined may change to suit the evolving needs of the facility.
