We are seeking a Paralegal with prior law office experience to assist attorneys in all phases of litigation. This role is based in our Long Island, New York office and requires four days a week in office and one day remote, following a minimum of six weeks in-office training. Candidates must be eager to learn, organized and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.Experience Requirements:3+ years' prior paralegal experienceComputer proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel & Adobe AcrobatHighly proficient in typing with excellent grammatical accuracyExceptional verbal and written communication, knowledge and understanding of legal terminology and proceduresProficiency in drafting legal documentsProficiency with electronic filings in the State and Federal CourtsPrimary job duties include but are not limited to the following:Insurance defense litigation supportReviewing case assignments and examine claim documents, pleadings, and supporting records for consistency, legal sufficiency, and relevant deadlinesCalendar management for assigned caseloadCoordinating with support services, opposing law firms and courtsDrafting legal documents for review and use by attorneys such as pleadings, discovery demands/responses, notices, affidavits, subpoenas, RJIs, and other routine legal documentsMotion preparation and identification of exhibitsDocument productions and redactionsPreparation of witness/exhibit lists and trial bindersRetention of expert witnesses, preparation of expert indexes, production of recordsOrganizing and maintaining case files, including electronic files and document management systemsE-filing & E-Service (State & Federal)Additional dutiesSummaryAs a Paralegal, you will be integral to supporting legal teams by managing case files and drafting essential documents. Reporting to attorneys, you will utilize core skills such as litigation support and document review. Your strong communication and organizational skills will ensure efficient case management and client interaction.
