Maintenance Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead our Maintenance Department and oversee the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility equipment, machinery, and building systems. This role is responsible for supervising Maintenance Mechanics, prioritizing and delegating work, coordinating preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, leadership experience, and the ability to manage both in-house maintenance activities and external service providers. This position requires participation in on-call support, overtime, and occasional weekend work to support business operations.

Leadership & Team Management

• Supervise, mentor, and direct the daily activities of Maintenance Mechanics.
• Delegate and prioritize maintenance work assignments based on operational needs.
• Monitor work quality, productivity, and adherence to safety standards.
• Foster a collaborative and safety-focused work environment.

Maintenance & Repair

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and facility-related equipment issues.
• Perform and oversee electrical repairs on packaging and production machinery.
• Coordinate, oversee, and participate in the installation, relocation, and commissioning of facility equipment and machinery.
• Schedule and perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
• Operate shop equipment and power tools safely and effectively.
• Maintain organized work areas and ensure tools and equipment are properly secured.

Vendor & Project Coordination

• Order replacement parts, supplies, and maintenance materials as needed.
• Coordinate with equipment manufacturers regarding service, repairs, and warranty support.
• Arrange and oversee outsourced maintenance projects and specialty repair services when necessary.
• Make recommendations regarding equipment purchases, upgrades, and maintenance scheduling.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, repair logs, and preventive maintenance documentation.
• Complete daily maintenance reports and equipment repair records.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and maintenance procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and departmental goals.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proven experience in industrial maintenance, facility maintenance, or manufacturing maintenance environments.
• Strong mechanical repair and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in electrical maintenance and repair.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to be on call and work overtime, including occasional weekends.

Preferred

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Electrical license or certification.
• Experience with packaging equipment and production machinery.
• Knowledge of printing industry equipment.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
