Payroll Specialist

Vaco has partnered with a highly respected organization seeking a Payroll Specialist with strong high-volume payroll processing experience. Job Title: Payroll Specialist Location: Tempe, AZ Pay Rate: $25-$30+/hour Responsibilities: Process high-volume payroll transactions for approximately 1,000 employees while ensuring accuracy and compliance. Audit, validate, and reconcile time entry batches, labor records, and payroll reports. Process off-cycle payments, payroll adjustments, corrections, and final paychecks. Support certified payroll reporting, prevailing wage compliance, garnishments, and payroll tax activities. Respond to employee payroll inquiries and generate payroll-related reports as needed. Qualifications: 3-5+ years of payroll processing experience. Experience supporting high-volume payroll operations. Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and conditional formatting. Experience with payroll software and ERP systems; JD Edwards preferred. Construction, manufacturing, certified payroll, or multi-state payroll experience highly preferred.
