Compensation

Mechanic C: $28.53/hr

After 60-Day Evaluation:

Mechanic B: $32.68/hr

Mechanic A: $35.69/hr

Overtime available during peak production

Highly automated environment with strong use of Allen-Bradley PLC systems

Products include peas, corn, carrots, beans, potatoes, and pouch packaging

Overview

This role supports maintenance and repair of high-speed food production equipment in a fast-paced, uptime-driven environment. The plant operates on a seasonal production cycle, requiring flexibility and strong performance during peak periods. Mechanics are responsible for troubleshooting issues, completing repairs, and supporting preventative maintenance across the facility.

Hiring Process

All candidates start at Mechanic C at $28.53/hr

First 60 days are a working evaluation period on day shift

After evaluation:

Placed into Mechanic A, B, or remain at C level

Advancement based on performance, not tenure

Schedule

Training Period:

6:00am 2:30pm

Post-Training (based on seniority):

2nd Shift: 2:00pm 10:30pm

3rd Shift: 10:00pm 6:30am

Plant attempts to honor preference, but seniority determines placement

Seasonality

Pack Season:

1012 hour shifts

Rotating days with limited time off

High production demand

Off Season:

8 hour shifts

MondayFriday schedule

Schedules change based on production needs

Key Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and repair on food processing and packaging equipment

Troubleshoot mechanical issues and restore equipment quickly

Complete preventative maintenance and inspections

Maintain conveyors, motors, pumps, and gearboxes

Support uptime during production

Assist with rebuilds and equipment improvements

Follow safety, GMP, and plant procedures

Required Experience

Industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience

Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability

Experience with conveyors, motors, pumps, and gearboxes

Ability to work extended hours during peak production

Preferred Experience

Electrical troubleshooting and PLC exposure (Allen-Bradley)

Food or beverage manufacturing experience

Welding or fabrication experience

Work Environment
