Sterling Engineering is looking for a Construction Manager in the Chicagoland area. This opportunity supports capital and facility projects across industrial environments including steel, oil & gas, chemical, and life sciences.

Job Duties:

• Plan, direct, and manage engineering and construction projects from concept through commissioning.

• Oversee general contractors and field installation of building and process systems.

• Develop scopes of work, budgets, cost estimates, schedules, and bid packages.

• Coordinate with equipment vendors, manage procurement activities, and track project costs.

• Review field progress, initiate change orders as needed, and support start-up activities.

• Ensure compliance with construction, equipment, and safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

• 5–10 years of construction or project management experience in industrial environments.

• Strong knowledge of project planning, budgeting, and contractor coordination.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

• Comfortable working in a field-based role with in-office time as needed and occasional overtime.
