Meritain Account Director - Southeast

Position Summary The role involves developing and implementing account management strategies for a book of business, serving as the primary interface for health plan products, and driving retention, financial performance, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Develop and implement account management and cross‑sell strategies, building strong external and internal relationships. Create demand for organization products and services, raising their profile with customers. Develop and execute account management strategy for strategic, multi‑geography or high‑tier book of business, including service level discussions, process improvements and root‑cause analysis. Own the renewal process, ensuring appropriate margins and retention targets are met and presenting complex financial decisions to management. Assess competitive environment and develop sales strategies to capitalize on market opportunities. Execute strategic cross‑functional annual business plan and account strategy aligned with customer objectives. Collaborate within Meritain and across business functions to address customer needs and key issues. Lead Producer Relationship for the customer and manage multi‑threaded communication throughout the organization. Coordinate communications of Meritain news and operational updates. Accountable for retention of assigned portfolio, managing financial performance, pricing, and negotiation. Deliver presentations to clients and review reporting with analytics and recommendations for additional programs. Manage communication with internal and external parties, traveling to off‑site locations as needed. Required Experience 5+ years of self‑funded healthcare industry experience. Expert level experience in self‑f funding, working with client/broker on Health Plan strategy and interpreting annual plan review data. Active Life, Accident and Health License required. Education Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Anticipated Weekly Hours 40 Time Type Full time Pay Range $54,400.00 - $151,898.00 Benefits The full‑time position is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package designed to support physical, emotional and financial well‑being, including medical, dental, vision coverage, paid time off, retirement savings options, wellness programs, and additional resources.
