Nursing Affiliate Instructor

Position Summary The Department of Nursing invites applications for part‑time affiliate faculty teaching positions (PT NUR/CLN/Clsrm/Sim/Lab). Affiliates teach classroom, laboratory, simulation, and clinical components of courses to RN‑BSN Completion students, Traditional, and Accelerated BSN students. For more information about the Department of Nursing, visit Responsibilities Teach classroom, simulation, laboratory, and clinical components of courses to RN‑BSN Completion students, Traditional, and Accelerated BSN students in traditional semesters, utilizing on‑ground, hybrid, or online formats. Deliver course content in person or online, preparing materials and lesson plans, grading student work, providing timely feedback, addressing student questions, and providing academic support as needed. Provide instruction consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus, and, if required, with department course coordination policies. Comply with university‑wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies. Demonstrate ability to adapt and learn new modes of instruction and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population. Required Qualifications Minimum of a graduate degree in nursing from a Nursing Education Program with national nursing accreditation. If the graduate degree is in a field other than nursing, the candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in nursing and demonstrate evidence that the graduate degree is relevant to the area(s) of responsibility. Active, unencumbered Colorado nursing license. At least two (2) years of full‑time or equivalent professional nursing clinical experience. At least one (1) year of nursing experience in the field of instruction. Preferred Qualifications Participation in a clinical scholar/preceptor program. Professional nursing certification. Terms of Employment Affiliate faculty are part‑time, at‑will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester‑by‑semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University’s benefit program. All teaching assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment. Qualified candidates will be expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire. Salary The final salary is based on the number of credit hours assigned at a rate determined by university policy.
