- Setting: School / Community-Based
- Pay Rate: Up to $35.00 / hour
- Schedule: Flexible / Part-Time
- Contract Length: 2026-2027 School Year
- Candidate Type: Local and traveler friendly
- Preferred: School-based experience preferred.
- Requirements: ACVREP Orientation & Mobility Certification (COMS) and valid West Virginia state credentials required.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive orientation and mobility evaluations to assess students' spatial awareness, travel skills, and environmental navigation.
- Provide direct instruction in safe, independent travel techniques across school, home, and community environments.
- Teach concepts related to spatial orientation, cane skills, route planning, and environmental cues tailored to visually impaired students.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and TVIs to support safe navigation and access within educational settings.
- Participate in IEP meetings, contribute to functional travel goal development, and maintain compliant progress reports.
