General Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Job Description

Biddo Contracting is hiring a General Maintenance Technician to join our three-person crew. We’re looking for someone dependable who takes pride in their work, brings a good attitude, and can get jobs done without needing constant direction.

Previous hands-on experience in maintenance, remodeling, or similar work is required. You should be able to assess a typical maintenance task, know the steps needed to complete it, and follow through with quality work. You’ll also need to recognize when a problem requires additional guidance and communicate it clearly.

The work includes drywall repair, flooring, painting, and typical handyman tasks. You’ll work in both tenants’ homes and vacant properties, so being respectful, professional, and careful with the spaces you’re working in is essential.

You’ll need your own basic tools, including a drill and impact driver, drill bits, square, pliers, snips, tool bag, hammer, tape measure, and drywall tools. We can help provide larger or less common tools when a job calls for them.

You’ll be trained to use our job documentation app to record clear work notes and photos. Good communication with the crew and accurate documentation are part of the job.

This is a year-round position with a target schedule of 40 hours per week. Hours may vary depending on workload and season, with occasional overtime. Typical hours are 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. We can be flexible with scheduling when given enough notice.

Starting pay is $25 per hour. After 90 days, we’ll review your performance and discuss a possible pay increase.

During the first 90 days, you’ll generally ride with another technician while learning our processes and demonstrating your ability to work independently, but you may occasionally need to drive your own vehicle to job sites. After 90 days, you’ll be assigned your own company van for driving between jobs during the workday. The van will remain at the shop after work and will not be taken home.

You’ll need a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Most of our work is in Tacoma, with jobs ranging from Tukwila to Lacey. Safe driving is expected at all times, including staying off your phone while driving.

We’re looking for someone who works well with the crew and can be trusted to complete good work independently.
