The Child Counselor is primarily responsible for addressing the emotional and mental needs of Casa de Misericordia children and adolescent clients.\n Position Details: \n \nMinimum Qualifications
\n
Education:
• Arkansas: Master's degree in counseling, psychology or related field.
\n• Texas: Enrolled in master's degree in counseling, psychology, or related field with timeline to receive of 2 years.
\n
Licensure:
• Arkansas: Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC or Provisionally Licensed Master of Social Worker, LMSW in the state of Arkansas.
\n• Texas: Current licensure or currently pursuing license in the state of Texas.
\n \nExperience: One to two years' experience in a center for victims of family violence or similar setting.
\n \nPreferred Qualifications
\n \nEducation:
\n• Texas: Master's degree in counseling psychology.
\n
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a must.
\n• Knowledgeable about development issues and cultural sensitivities.
\n• Ability to work extended hours as needed.
\n• Ability to work with and preserve confidential information.
\n• Basic computer skills.
