Transmission Field CoordinatorWork Place Flexibility: Onsite Legal Entity: Entergy Services, LLCJOB SUMMARY/PURPOSEThe Transmission Field Coordinator leads planning and readiness activities for high-voltage transmission line and substation work, ensuring safe, compliant, and first-time-right execution. The role proactively identifies hazards, evaluates structure and ROW conditions, and determines when EWP or BMAD analysis is required. Work plans incorporate Life Critical Rules, MAD/BMAD requirements, grounding schemes, fall-protection needs, LOTO/clearance steps, and all relevant transmission safe-work practices. The Field Coordinator ensures that all transmission jobs are designed and prepared in alignment with engineering standards, conductor installation methods, hardware assemblies, and substation equipment specifications. Pre-construction reviews—such as structure assessments, access verification, and material checks—are essential to eliminating field delays and constructability issues. The role prepares switching steps, isolation points, breaker lineups, tagging requirements, and outage sequencing in collaboration with Transmission Control Center, ensuring system protection, accuracy, and operational feasibility. Execution readiness includes verifying structure access, crane/tensioning locations, conductor paths, environmental/ROW requirements, permits, logistics, and specialized equipment. The coordinator partners with Construction, System Operations, ROW, Environmental, Dispatch, Warehousing, and contractors to remove barriers and support seamless field execution. Additionally, the Field Coordinator provides technical coaching, anticipates challenges in rigging, tensions, and equipment limitations, and contributes to post-job reviews to strengthen future planning and work quality.JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIESSafety Leadership & High-Risk Transmission Work Planning - Identifies hazards specific to transmission lines and substations; determines when EWP/BMAD analysis is required; integrates Life Critical Rules, grounding schemes, MAD/BMAD requirements, LOTO/clearance steps, and transmission Safe Work Practices into all work plans; and ensures specialty equipment and controls are ready before work starts.Technical Standards, Engineering Alignment & QA/QC Oversight - Validates transmission work packages against structure standards, conductor/OPGW installation practices, hardware assemblies, foundation requirements, and substation equipment specifications; performs site, structure, and access assessments; and resolves discrepancies with Engineering, Design, Environmental, ROW, or Permitting to produce field-ready plans.Transmission System Operations, Switching Coordination & Outage Planning - Prepares switching packages, clearances, isolation points, breaker lineups, tagging requirements, and outage sequencing; collaborates with Transmission Control Center to validate feasibility; and applies knowledge of outage tools, operating procedures, and restoration processes during planned and emergent events.Execution Readiness, Access Validation & Resource Staging - Ensures all transmission work is planned for safe execution by verifying structure access, crane/tensioning setups, conductor paths, environmental/ROW needs, logistics, specialized equipment, and materials; coordinates with Transmission Construction, Dispatch, Warehouse, Environmental/ROW, and contractors to eliminate delays.Technical Coaching, Constructability Troubleshooting & Field Partnership - Supports crews by clarifying technical expectations, anticipating constructability issues (rigging, tensions, structure conditions, protection impacts), solving planning-phase challenges, participating in post-job reviews, and intervening early when gaps in packages or switching plans could affect safety or execution quality.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSMinimum education required of the position High School Diploma or equivalent or related work experience Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree preferredMinimum experience required of the position 7+ years of Substation, Relay, or Linework (Distribution or Transmission) experience with demonstrated competency and a clear understanding of advanced transmission work – or – The ability to pass the technical capability test, demonstrating the required skills. To be eligible to test, an individual must also meet one of the following: 1. Minimum of five years of discipline-specific or combination of field experience (Substation, Relay, or Distribution / Transmission Linework) 2. Prior relevant Operations Coordinator experience with SVP approvalMinimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position A Senior-level contributor exhibits advanced safety leadership in planning by proactively identifying complex hazards, shaping high-risk work strategies, and ensuring Life Critical Rules, engineered controls, and safe work practices are fully integrated into all documentation and job packages. They leverage expert knowledge of distribution standards, system configuration, materials, and construction methods to ensure first-time-right work quality through rigorous QA/QC discipline, design validation, and resolution of technical discrepancies. They prepare and review complex outage plans, switching strategies, and system operating configurations, ensuring alignment with reliability needs and supporting response to emergent events. They serve as the primary integrator of execution readiness, orchestrating cross-functional coordination to eliminate barriers and optimize safe, efficient field execution.
