Specimen Technician - Hospital - Concord, MAThe Hospital Specimen Associate is responsible for the preparation of patient's specimens in a hospital location where multiple Hospital Specimen Associates work together with minimal direction. The Hospital Specimen Associate must be able to perform and follow all pre-analytical processing procedures with accuracy and in a timely manner. The roles & responsibilities below are specific to samples being performed by Quest laboratory testing.Pay range: $21.09 - $23.09 / hourSalary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Depending on whether it is a part-time or full-time position, some of the benefits offered may include:Day 1 Medical, supplemental health, dental & vision for FT employees who work 30+ hoursBest-in-class well-being programsAnnual, no-cost health assessment program Blueprint for Wellness®HealthyMINDS mental health programVacation and Health/Flex Time6 Holidays plus 1 "MyDay" offFinFit financial coaching and services401(k) pre-tax and/or Roth IRA with company match up to 5% after 12 months of serviceEmployee stock purchase planLife and disability insurance, plus buy-up optionFlexible Spending AccountsAnnual incentive plansMatching gifts programEducation assistance through MyQuest for EducationCareer advancement opportunitiesand so much more!ResponsibilitiesSpecimen Processing & Test Send Out ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates excellent proficiency in test ordering policies, hospital processing procedures, specimen requirements for test ordering, sample preparation, Quantum, and compliance/legal requirements.Knowledge and competency of Hospital LIS system (client specific)Print Quest performed testing reportsDemonstrates ability to interpret specimen flow/tracking data utilizing all available reports and resourcesResponsible for supply ordering processes.Performs remote accessioning (pre-accessioning), (client specific)Problem Resolution ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and problem resolution for specimen types, missing information, TIQ, TNP, additional sample requests, and other client issues related to area of responsibility.Customer Service ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates exceptional customer service skills as the Liaison between customer & Quest performing laboratory to provide pro-active customer support.Responsible for managing inbound calls with a positive client interaction.Communicates and collaborates effectively with the hospital laboratory staff, as well as the Quest Diagnostics sales team and other functions in the organization.Communicates effectively information regarding problem-solving with specimens, test cancellations, testing requirements, billing requirements with various hospital staff.QualificationsRequired Work Experience:1 – 3 years of working experiencePreferred Work Experience:Medical background preferred, which includes medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratoryPrevious experience in a hospital laboratory environment preferredPhysical and Mental Requirements:Position requires data-entry background with abilities to enter 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes/hour.Works in a biohazard environment, practicing good safety habits.Able to sit or stand for long periods.Skills:Handles multiple tasks simultaneously and works in a production environment.Hospital LIS Systems knowledge or experience a plusCommand of Microsoft Office SuiteClient interfacing role requiring strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skillsThe position requires demonstrated data entry skills to effectively utilize both the Quest Diagnostics system and the hospital client systems.Maintains composure while working under pressure.Reflects good judgment when determining what action to take when resolving problems.Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills that foster a positive environment.Demonstrates flexibility and ability to adapt to change.Education:High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)About the TeamQuest Diagnostics honors our service members and encourages veterans to apply.
