Job Description Tax Director Location: Houston, TX Overview a long-established, nationally ranked regional CPA firm in the Southeast is seeking a Tax Director for its tax practice to lead client engagements, tax planning and review. Responsibilities

- Supervise client work to ensure delivery within time, scope and budget
- Manage engagement and client expectations and lead client meetings
- Assess issue materiality and client risk tolerance; present ideas that lead to additional services
- Research and review work papers for book-to-tax differences and apply tax law to client circumstances
- Apply tax planning concepts and identify savings and risk-reduction opportunities
- Review research findings, returns and work papers for consistency with firm policy and professional standards (AICPA ethics, Circular 230, §6694)
- Pursue business development through new and existing contacts
- Undergraduate degree required; Master's preferred
- CPA required
- 9+ years of tax experience
- Comprehensive understanding of tax code and rules
- Experience preparing returns and researching complex tax issues
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
- On-the-job and industry-specific training, plus technology training each year
