Primary (Must-Have):

• Experience performing cleaning and sanitation activities in healthcare, hospitality, or facility environments

• Valid California Driver’s License (if operating company vehicles)

Position Overview

The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary healthcare environment through daily cleaning, disinfecting, waste removal, and facility support activities. This role supports patient care by ensuring that patient rooms, treatment areas, nursing stations, offices, and other facility spaces meet established cleanliness and infection prevention standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, strong customer service skills, and the ability to perform high-priority environmental services tasks in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of patient rooms, treatment rooms, restrooms, nursing stations, offices, waiting areas, and assigned facility locations
• Remove trash, linen, and other waste materials from designated areas
• Perform high-level disinfectant cleaning of patient discharge rooms, isolation rooms, emergency departments, and procedural areas
• Complete terminal cleaning procedures in accordance with departmental standards and infection prevention protocols
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies safely and effectively
• Perform specialty floor care, carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, stripping, refinishing, and related environmental services projects
• Recognize and follow safety signs, symbols, and written instructions while performing assigned duties
• Deliver outstanding customer service to patients, visitors, and staff members
• Maintain compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and quality standards
• Assist with special cleaning projects and facility support activities as assigned
• Maintain professionalism in communication, appearance, and conduct at all times
• Support organizational goals related to safety, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence
• Travel between organization locations as required

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow job-related instructions and communicate effectively
• Ability to recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to perform physical cleaning and maintenance activities throughout assigned shifts
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and varying shifts

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Previous hospital environmental services or housekeeping experience preferred
• Hospitality housekeeping experience preferred
• Basic computer skills including email and online training systems
• Experience operating commercial cleaning and floor care equipment
• Valid California Driver’s License for candidates authorized to operate company vehicles
