As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) in Telemetry, your insights and contributions to patient care are highly valued and encouraged at every level. Position Overview and QualificationsThe Clinical Nurse Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the delivery of exceptional, patient-focused care and overseeing all unit functions during assigned shifts. Working alongside other management team members, the CNC directs, assesses, and evaluates nursing care in line with established policies and procedures. This role also serves as a resource for staff and exemplifies a commitment to the organization’s mission and values, fostering an outstanding patient experience and clinical results that enhance overall departmental performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitates admission and discharge processes to promote efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
- Engages in continuous evaluation of the quality of patient care services in collaboration with the management team.
- Works with subject matter experts and fellow managers to cultivate a teamwork-oriented environment that drives improved outcomes and service delivery.
- Advocates for a patient-first approach and participates in service recovery when necessary.
- Assists in enhancing staff engagement by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly check-ins.
- Provides input on the recruitment, selection, and training of new staff, and recommends actions related to training, conflict resolution, compliance with personnel policies, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to ensure organizational excellence.
- Helps manage staff scheduling and oversees labor aspects in accordance with patient care requirements and productivity standards.
- Ensures effective inventory management and assists in the oversight of supplies and equipment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within one year of starting employment.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be acquired within 30 days of employment commencement.
- Completion of the Trauma Nursing Core Course is required within one year of hire.
- Must hold a Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Possession of an Associate Degree or a Registered Nurse Diploma is necessary.
- Prior experience as an inpatient RN is essential.
