Responsibilities range from ensuring the safety of food service, maintaining the integrity of real estate transactions, furthering the transparency of condominium governance, and of course, overseeing the qualifications of licensure that ensure work requiring a skilled professional is performed safely and sufficiently. DBPR’s stakeholders include these professionals and their customers alike. Under the direction of Secretary Melanie S. Griffin, DBPR oversees many of Florida’s professions and industries in the areas above, and many more which can be seen on our website: The Work You Will Do: This is an entry level position in the Office of the General Counsel's Construction Industry Licensing Board Legal Unit. Under the direction of the Lead Administrative Assistant III and Chief Attorney for this work unit, this position provides administrative support to the Lead Assistant, assigned attorneys and chief attorney. Your Specific Responsibilities: Duties include but are not limited to: Updates document and case management systems. Scans and profiles documents. Prepares legal correspondence as necessary. Receives and routes incoming mail. Routes legal documents to Agency Clerk for filing. Prepares packages for mailing. Receives and routes telephone calls and assists callers with inquiries pertaining to case status. Serves as a back-up receptionist for the Office of the General Counsel’s main switchboard. Performs other related duties as necessary. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of basic office equipment such as copier, fax, and multi-line telephones. Knowledge of office procedures and techniques. Knowledge of methods of data collection, knowledge of basic arithmetic. Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques. Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to multi-task. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner. Ability to work independently and in a team enviroment. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; and One year of work experience as a staff assistant, administrative assistant or legal assistant.
