Program Manager for Student Wellbeing and Success

Clark University Location: Worcester, MA Category: Staff and Administrators Job Type: Full-time - Exempt Posted On: Tue Jun 2 2026 Job Description: Position Summary The Program Manager for Student Wellbeing & Success brings a holistic lens to advancing student wellbeing and thriving, paired with a deep commitment to community health and an energizing, collaborative approach to building meaningful programs and partnerships. The position is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive wellness programs that promote the physical, mental, and emotional well‑being of students. Reporting to the Assistant Dean/Director for Student Engagement and Belonging, this role coordinates and collaborates with campus partners to design a campus‑wide wellness strategy and deliver evidence‑based health education initiatives, foster a culture of well‑being, and support student success through prevention and outreach efforts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Program Development & Management (30%) Design evidence‑based programs that address the components of the wellness wheel (environmental, financial, occupational, social and cultural, mental and emotional, physical, spiritual, and sexual) including, but not limited to, mental health, substance use prevention, sexual health, physical well‑being, nutrition, sleep, and stress management. Implement campus‑wide wellness programs including, but not limited to, Fresh Check Day, Fall into Wellness, Feel Good Finals, Wellness Week, and weekly wellness staples, and ensure timely execution of deliverables and alignment with goals and learning outcomes. Design a campus‑wide wellness strategy through monitoring emerging trends and assessing student data pertaining to health and well‑being to continuously refine, grow, and evolve campus‑wide wellness offerings. Create scalable programs that provide comprehensive exploration of the wellness wheel that can be adapted across diverse student populations. Manage program budgets, including forecasting expenses, monitoring spending, and ensuring responsible allocation of resources. Ensure programs are inclusive, culturally responsive, and accessible to students of varying backgrounds, identities, and abilities. Coordinate logistics for programs and events, including, but not limited to, scheduling, space reservations, and marketing. Education & Outreach (30%) Lead comprehensive education and outreach efforts to increase awareness, accessibility, and utilization of campus wellness resources among a diverse student population. Build and sustain partnerships with campus departments, faculty, student organizations, dining, and community partners to embed wellness into academic, co‑curricular, and social environments. Conduct targeted outreach to underserved and high‑need student populations using inclusive, culturally responsive strategies that address barriers to engagement, support student retention efforts, and enhance sense of belonging. Serve as the communication spoke for health and wellbeing information to students in various forms of media. Represent wellness at campus‑wide events, orientations, and resource fairs to promote a visible and approachable presence. Create and disseminate accessible, student‑centered educational materials across multiple platforms, including, but not limited to, print, digital, and social media channels. Train and support the wellness ambassador program to expand outreach capacity and enhance student‑to‑student engagement and programming. Assessment & Evaluation (15%) Design and implement comprehensive assessment strategies to measure the effectiveness, reach, and impact of wellness initiatives. Establish clear, measurable learning outcomes pertaining to shifts in student understanding of wellness and student shifts in wellness behaviors and practices. Utilize data to identify trends, gaps, and emerging student needs, and adjust programs, outreach strategies, and policies and procedures accordingly. Evaluate the effectiveness of peer education and outreach efforts, including training outcomes and student engagement metrics and impact. Supervision and Leadership (15%) Provide direct supervision, feedback, training, and direction to peer educators within the peer education wellness program. Support the hiring, supervision, feedback, training, and direction to para‑professional staff (graduate assistants, professional assistants, student workers, mentors, etc.) in the implementation of programs and initiatives and execution of assigned/affiliated tasks. Foster a collaborative, student‑centered team culture focused on learning and development. Serve as a representative on the Health & Well‑being Taskforce, providing guidance, strategy, recommendations, and leadership when necessary. Student Success, Community Engagement, and Inclusion (10%) Actively support and lead university‑wide efforts to promote student retention, belonging and identity development. Center equity, inclusion and student voice while critically working to ensure student engagement, belonging, wellbeing, retention, and success. Play a key role in campus traditions and high‑level university initiatives and experiences, such as opening weekend, undergraduate onboarding, orientation, commencement, family weekend, traditional events, etc. Promote efficiency and courtesy throughout the University community, ensuring consistency with Student Success' mission and values. Develop assessment plans and key performance indicators and metrics to demonstrate success. Remain cognizant of the University's mission and identity, the constant promotion of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging and the importance of student voices. Communicate effectively with supervisor concerning pertinent departmental and University matters. Serve as an active and responsible committee member for divisional and university‑wide committees and communicate relevant information as appropriate. Other duties as assigned that are in the best interest of the Division of Student Success. Job Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of 3 years relevant experience, ideally in a college setting. Demonstrated experience in wellness education or health promotion, program development, facilitation, and assessment. Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with students, student leaders, campus partners, faculty, and the community. Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule to support student programming needs. Preferred Qualifications Master's preferred in higher education, public health, social work, community health, or related. Supervision experience for student workers preferred. Experience with technology including MS Office, Engage, Slate, EMS Event Management System, Qualtrics, social media, and familiarity with Banner. Proven ability to work effectively in a dynamic, diverse environment with a committed and engaged faculty and highly creative student population. Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices in health promotion, prevention, and holistic well‑being. Knowledge of trauma‑informed, culturally responsive, and equity-centered approaches to wellness education. Possess a collaborative disposition, strong and effective communicator across multiple mediums and audiences. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Primarily on‑site with evening and weekend responsibilities related to University and student events and programs. Additional Information Expected Hiring Range: $55,530 to $68,150 Pay Transparency Disclosure: The compensation for this position will be determined based on factors that include available budget, internal equity, and the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, education, and other job-related credentials.
