ForTech Solutions is a technology integration company specializing in residential, commercial, and public-sector projects throughout Southern California and beyond. For more than two decades, we have designed, installed, and supported integrated technology systems including audiovisual, networking, security, lighting control, motorized shades, automation, and related low-voltage systems.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced, organized, and highly accountable Project Manager who can take ownership of projects from internal handoff through successful completion.

The Role

The Project Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, execution, and closeout of assigned projects .

This is not a desk-only project management position. We are looking for someone who understands the realities of construction and technology integration and is comfortable working directly with clients, technicians, subcontractors, general contractors, designers, vendors, and the internal ForTech team.

The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects and priorities without losing sight of schedules, budgets, quality, documentation, or client expectations.

At ForTech, a Project Manager is expected to own the outcome of the project , not simply coordinate tasks.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Execution

• Take ownership of assigned projects following sales/design handoff.
• Review project scope, proposals, drawings, specifications, budgets, schedules, and contractual requirements.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, manpower requirements, and installation priorities.
• Coordinate project kickoff and communicate expectations to field teams.
• Identify missing information, conflicts, dependencies, and potential risks before they impact the project.
• Maintain a clear understanding of project status and next steps at all times.
• Manage multiple active projects simultaneously while maintaining organization and follow-through.

Field & Team Coordination

• Coordinate daily and weekly field activities with technicians, lead installers, programmers, service personnel, and subcontractors.
• Ensure field teams have the necessary drawings, information, equipment, materials, and direction before arriving at the project.
• Conduct jobsite visits as necessary to verify progress, quality, readiness, and coordination.
• Work directly with field personnel to resolve installation and coordination issues.
• Coordinate manpower requirements and communicate schedule changes internally.
• Help maintain accountability for project schedules, workmanship, documentation, and completion.

Client & Trade Communication

• Serve as a primary point of coordination for assigned projects.
• Communicate professionally with clients, general contractors, architects, designers, builders, consultants, and other trades.
• Attend construction and project coordination meetings when required.
• Communicate schedule changes, project requirements, outstanding decisions, and potential issues proactively.
• Manage client expectations while protecting project scope, schedule, and company interests.
• Escalate significant risks or client concerns to management before they become larger problems.

Materials, Purchasing & Logistics

• Coordinate equipment and material requirements with purchasing and internal teams.
• Review project equipment requirements against approved scope and documentation.
• Track long-lead items and identify potential material shortages before they affect field schedules.
• Coordinate deliveries, staging, returns, and project-related material requirements.
• Help prevent unnecessary purchases, lost materials, duplicate orders, and avoidable project delays.

Scope, Budget & Change Management

• Maintain awareness of project labor and material budgets.
• Monitor project progress against the original scope and identify deviations.
• Recognize additional work and scope changes before work proceeds whenever possible.
• Coordinate change-order requirements with sales, management, and clients.
• Help minimize unbillable labor, rework, unnecessary trips, and project overruns.
• Provide management with visibility into project risks and financial concerns.

Documentation & Project Closeout

• Maintain accurate project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure drawings, field notes, change documentation, photos, programming information, equipment records, and other required information are properly maintained.
• Track open items and punch-list requirements through completion.
• Coordinate final commissioning, client training, documentation, and turnover.
• Ensure projects are properly closed internally and administratively.
• Confirm outstanding change orders, equipment, returns, service issues, and documentation are resolved before project closeout.
• Coordinate a clean handoff to the service/support team when applicable.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of project management, coordination, or field leadership experience in AV integration, low-voltage, electrical, construction, or a related industry preferred.
• Experience with audiovisual, automation, networking, security, lighting control, or low-voltage systems is strongly preferred.
• Understanding of construction schedules, drawings, specifications, and jobsite coordination.
• Ability to read and understand project documentation and technical drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer and project-management software skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout Southern California.
• Experience managing technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and multiple concurrent projects is preferred.

Industry experience with organizations, manufacturers, or technologies associated with CEDIA, AVIXA, BICSI, Crestron, Control4, Lutron, networking, surveillance, access control, and professional AV systems is a plus.What Success Looks Like
