By sampling with state-of-the-art equipment and utilizing a nationwide network of American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) -certified laboratories, NV5 quickly assesses and partners with clients to address identified exposures by providing recommendations for industry-proven methods of risk mitigation and controlsAs an Industrial Hygienist, you will take the lead in conducting comprehensive field surveys across a diverse range of projects, ensuring that we uphold the highest standards of safety and hygiene. You will analyze data meticulously, produce clear and concise reports, and collaborate with your colleagues to continuously adapt to and meet our clients' evolving needs. Key projects will involve conducting field surveys and providing comprehensive reports for a range of environmental assessments, including indoor air quality (IAQ), mold, moisture intrusion, asbestos, and lead-based paint. If you have a passion for environmental health and safety, we invite you to apply and become a valued member of our team!ResponsibilitiesConduct scientific field investigations encompassing asbestos, mold, indoor air quality, moisture intrusion, and lead-based paint.Execute field surveys, air monitoring, and sampling, maintaining a robust field presence throughout project activities.Provide moisture mapping and water intrusion assessments, particularly in disaster response scenarios.Perform Industrial Hygiene (IH) worker exposure monitoring for clients and contractors.Ensure project activities adhere to specific job requirements.Operate various IH and IAQ monitoring equipment, including noise dosimeters, photo-ionization detectors (PID), multi-gas monitors, carbon monoxide meters, carbon dioxide meters, and aerosol meters.Participate in periodic meetings to discuss project activities and safety concerns.Prepare well-documented written reports, correspondence, and communications.Evaluate contractor work activities concerning occupant and worker health, regulatory compliance, and public safety.Provide recommended engineering controls to project personnel.Independently develop, maintain, implement, and supervise IH programs and services.Craft technical reports based on the interpretation of complex data, observations, and current regulations.QualificationsRequired Qualifications/Certifications/Licenses:1-3 years of experience in asbestos surveys and abatement air monitoring.Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.AHERA Building InspectorProficient in the MS Office suite with experience in writing technical reports.Desired Qualifications/Certifications/Licenses:CIEC certification or similar preferred.Contractor Supervisor certificationsFlorida MRSA license and/or experience conducting moisture and mold investigations.EPA Lead Inspector or Risk Assessor preferred.NIOSH 582 certified PCM microscopist.Working Conditions:Primarily limited to the southeastern US, with periodic additional travelTravel 80% Monday- Friday and frequent overnight travel is required but is generally short-term (2-5 days).
