Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough electrophysiological assessments and studies for patients experiencing cardiac arrhythmias.
  • Administer care before and after electrophysiological procedures for patients.
  • Execute advanced electrophysiology techniques, such as catheter ablation, implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators, and management of devices.
  • Evaluate patients to determine their eligibility for various electrophysiological treatments and provide recommendations based on established guidelines.
  • Manage and assess patients with complex arrhythmias and related cardiovascular issues in both outpatient and inpatient environments.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests including electrocardiograms (ECG), Holter monitors, event monitors, and other relevant assessments.
  • Create and execute personalized treatment strategies for individuals with cardiac arrhythmias.
  • Collaborate with the cardiology team and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Contribute to the education and training of medical students, residents, fellows, and nursing personnel regarding cardiac electrophysiological disorders.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and keep abreast of the latest advancements in electrophysiology through participation in professional organizations, conferences, and educational events.
  • Take part in quality improvement projects and committees as required by the department and facility.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient interactions, procedures, and treatment plans in line with organizational policies and regulations.
  • Assist in the formulation and enhancement of clinical protocols and standards within the electrophysiology department.

Must hold board certification in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.

Board certification or eligibility in electrophysiology is required.

A Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution recognized by the Department of Veterans Affairs is necessary.

Must possess a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in any U.S. State, Territory, or Commonwealth, including the District of Columbia.

Our organization offers a comprehensive total rewards package:

Starting base salary range: $320,000 - $390,000 annually

Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): May be available for highly qualified candidates.

Compensation: Competitive salary, annual performance bonuses, and regular salary increases.

Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid leave each year (including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays, and potentially 5 days for CME).

Retirement Benefits: Traditional federal pension (with a 5-year vesting period) and a federal 401K with contributions of up to 5% from the organization.

Insurance Coverage: Federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance (many federal programs can be maintained into retirement).

Licensure: One unrestricted license from any U.S. State or territory is required.

CME Reimbursement: Up to $1,000 per year (must be full-time and board certified).

Malpractice Coverage: Liability protection with tail coverage is provided at no cost.

Contractual Terms: No Physician Employment Contract and minimal restrictions on moonlighting.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, including call coverage and weekend rounding as necessary (alternative schedules may be required to meet organizational needs).
