Mechanical Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead mechanical and MEP projects from planning through closeout. The ideal candidate will manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety for HVAC, plumbing, process piping, and other mechanical systems in commercial, industrial, or institutional construction environments. This role requires strong technical knowledge, effective stakeholder communication, and proven ability to coordinate contractors, engineers, and owners to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical and MEP project delivery including planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, construction oversight and closeout.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and site personnel to ensure work meets design, code, and quality standards.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, cost forecasts and progress reports; implement corrective actions when required.
• Review mechanical drawings and specifications (HVAC, plumbing, process piping) and resolve design or constructability issues with design teams and field staff.
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality requirements; conduct site inspections and enforce safety protocols.
• Manage change orders, claims, and contract administration; negotiate with clients and subcontractors to protect project interests.
• Facilitate project meetings, provide clear status updates to stakeholders, and maintain accurate project documentation and records.
• Mentor and lead project engineers and site supervisors to improve team performance and project outcomes.
• Implement continuous improvement practices for mechanical installation methods, schedule efficiency and cost control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 5+ years of project management experience in mechanical construction, MEP, or similar environments; commercial or industrial project experience preferred.
• Demonstrated technical knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, process piping and other mechanical systems.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, codes, standards and permit processes.
• Proven track record managing project budgets, schedules, change orders and subcontractor performance.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, or similar) and proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with BIM/Revit and construction management software is a plus.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, PE (mechanical) or similar are desirable.
• Willingness to travel to job sites and work occasional extended hours as project demands require.
