Job Description

The ODL staff are looking for a reliable and organized Student Worker for the Accessibility Technician position.

Responsibilities

• Remediates MS Word and PowerPoint files using accessibility tools found in MS Office.
• Remediates PDF files for accessibility using Adobe Acrobat.
• Edits automatic captioning files created by UNR's Kaltura video platform and/or YouTube.
• Documents all captioning edits completed.
• Prioritizes captioning projects based on provided criteria.
• Assists with ongoing instructional accessibility projects.
• Works with ODL staff on Departmental Accessibility Reports.
• Hours available are Monday Friday, 8 am 5 pm.

Required Qualifications

• Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno

Schedule

20 hours/week, during office hours (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm)

Student Employee Level 3

Exempt No Full-Time Equivalent 50.0%
