Systems Engineer

Overview SCCI is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team in support of a Weapon System Program. In this position you will provide direct support to rapid acquisition and tactical prototyping projects. The successful candidate will work as an integral part of the engineering design teams, as well as with end-users, management, and sponsors throughout the design, integration and iterative test of prototypes and tactical systems. This position is located at in Dahlgren, VA.SCCI offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including Health, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability benefits, 401k with Company Match, time off consisting of 2 weeks of paid vacation, 48 hours of sick/personal leave, and 11 paid Holidays.Responsibilities:Perform risk management analyses ensuring program compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF)Develop Systems Engineering and Risk Management briefings and documents, such as Risk Analysis status updatesPerform and support hazard analyses and system accreditationIdentify, evaluate, and mitigate cost, schedule, and technical hazardsPerform requirements derivation, allocation, and management for a weapon control system and external interfacesWork as part of a multidisciplinary team, including engineers, end users, testers, analysts and system instructors, to ensure user requirements are captured and addressed through iterative system designProvide inputs and subject matter expertise to engineering and configuration management activities, to include design and review boards, working groups, and integrated product teamsCoordinate proposed system changes with internal and external organizationsEvaluate system and subsystem requirements and design for cost/schedule/performance impacts and provide project leadership with recommendations for project planning and executionEssential Skills and Experience:Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security ClearanceBachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical disciplineMinimum of three (3) years of professional experience performing risk analysisExperience analyzing requirements, regulations, operations, design, and securityProficiency in Microsoft (MS) Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clear, logically sequenced, and grammatically correct documentsAttention to detail in project documentation for content, formatting, consistency, and grammarDemonstrated ability to work independently, multitask, and manage priorities in a dynamic environmentPreferred Skills and Experience:Familiarity with relevant DoD Systems Engineering and design instructions and standardsExperience with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF)Demonstrated experience working with engineers, HW / SW developers, and management to gather necessary documentation, requirements, security, and safety informationExperience with Requirements, Configuration Control, and Workflow Management and Modeling tools, such as DOORS, Jira, SharePoint, SysML or SerenaSCCI is committed to providing a comprehensive and competitive benefits package to meet the needs of employees and their families.
