Registered Behavior Technician

Overview Location: Richmond, TX 77469 | Position Type: Per Diem | Salary Range: $21.00 - $25.00 hourly | Travel: None The Registered Behavioral Technician will provide clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. Clients include children with Autism and related developmental disabilities in the home, community, clinic, and school settings. The Behavioral Technician will collect data on programs and assist with parent training. The RBT works under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst. The principles of behavior analysis target socially significant behaviors such as social skills, reading, communication, personal self-care and work skills. Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities Plan and implement intervention strategies using direct therapy, monitoring and consultation under the supervision of a BCBA. Teach targeted behaviors using specialized techniques that may include reward systems, incidental teaching and pivotal response training. Record and track data from training sessions. Reinforce positive behavior with children on caseload. Communicate effectively (orally and in writing) with administrators, parents and community members. Provide accurate documentation of intervention, goals and objectives. Facilitate transitions among agencies, programs, and professionals as service provision changes (early intervention to pre-school, pre-school to school, etc.). Identify emergency situations and determine appropriate action to ensure child safety. Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements. Follow the prescribed behavior skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols. Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior. Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with client’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols. Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Will perform other duties as assigned. Physical, Psychological and Intellectual Requirements PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Hearing and speaking ability to communicate on the telephone. Vision is necessary for data entry. Reaching is required for paper management. Manual dexterity for operating the computer, photocopier and telephone. Mobility to go to photocopier, fax machine, etc. Ability to speak and write English clearly. Ability to function independently and maintain personal integrity. Flexibility of hours. PSYCHOLOGICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to recognize tasks and perform them independently. Establish responsible and trustworthy rapport with staff by being punctual and providing proper notification for absence or tardiness. Follow through on tasks as assigned and adapt to changing schedules. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under time constraints. INTELLECTUAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to learn Constellation Kids policies and procedures. Judgment in processing telephone calls. Organizational skills to establish task priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to operate all aspects of the computer, photocopier and telephone. Ability to understand and follow instructions provided by the supervisor in written and oral formats. Ability to read, write and type. Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an accredited university AND one year of direct relevant experience working with youth and families who require behavior management to address mental health needs OR An associate’s degree (60 college credits) AND a minimum of two years of direct relevant experience working with youth and families who require behavior management to address mental health needs. Strong organization and communication skills are required. Registered Behavior Technician certification is required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
