Security Staff

Reports to: Security Manager Category: Seasonal (April - September 2026 in Hoonah, Alaska) Salary Range: $19.00 plus bonus potential Summary A Security Guard is responsible for monitoring the assigned specific area, ensuring proper identification, evicting trespassers and writing reports detailing any occurrences during their shift. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Protect company property, employees, and visitors. Monitor activities in assigned location on the company’s premises regularly to discourage criminals and ensure the environment is safe and secure. Evict trespassers and violators and detain perpetrators while following legal protocols before relevant authorities arrive to take over. Control the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and vehicles according to protocols. Provide detailed reports on daily activities and any incidents that may have occurred to management. Use provided communication devices such as two-way radios in a clear and concise manner. Perform CPR or first aid when needed. Perform any other duties as assigned by management. Requirements & Work Environment Have current TWIC card certification (required). Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat. Must be able to lift 40 pounds at times. Prolonged periods of standing or sitting. Ability to communicate in English to associates and guests. Ability to read, write and count to accurately complete all documentation. Must have or be willing to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification. Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present. Ability to work in an unheated building. Willing to live in a remote, rural community. Comfortable traveling by small plane or ferry to and from a remote setting. Able to walk and/or drive on gravel roads in inclement weather.
