Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel Respiratory Therapist for a travel job in Omaha, Nebraska.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Respiratory Therapist\n Discipline: Allied Health Professional\n Start Date: 09/21/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Days, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Sep 21, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a Level 1 trauma acute care hospital, requiring recent Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience and CRT or RRT certification.Details\n \n Acute care inpatient setting covering all hospital floors and units\n Level 1 trauma center\n Patient population ranges from neonates to geriatrics\n Utilizes EPIC EMR\n Vent equipment includes Drager, Servo I, and Carefusion (Heliox and NICU use only)\n BiPAP equipment includes Vision, V60, V30, and Respironics S/T\n High flow equipment includes AIRVO2\n Performs EKGs, bedside bronchoscopies, and bedside spirometry\n 12-hour day shifts, 7a-7p, with team scheduling\n Weekend rotation of every third weekend on days\n Holiday rotation in line with permanent staff\n Floats to different areas throughout the hospital in the RT capacity\n Hospitalist or intensivist coverage in house 24/7\n Lead RT present on each shift\n Traveler will never be the sole in-house RT\n Requirements\n \n Active state or compact RT license required if applicable\n BLS (AHA) certification required\n ACLS certification required\n CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) via NBRC required; RRT also accepted\n NRP and PALS certifications preferred\n Minimum 1 year of experience required\n Recent Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience required\n Driver's license required for consideration and used to verify address for radius eligibility\n Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire\n Additional Information\n \n 3 shifts (12 hours each) of unit-specific orientation provided\n Work alongside a collaborative team of RTs, providers, and nursing staff\n Opportunity to work across different levels of patient care each day\n Success in this role benefits from strong time management, flexibility, adaptability, communication, and teamwork skills\n Artificial fingernails are prohibited in all patient care departments; refusal to comply may result in contract termination\n Candidates must not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year\n PRN employment through outside staffing firms will be considered\n Candidates may not currently be employed full time, part time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity\n Minimum requested time off is 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract, submitted upfront; additional time off requests will not be approved after submission\n Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-752036.
