This position is hybrid, and you will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.The Marketing Communications Specialist develops internal and external communications, including multimedia content for the web.Essential Job FunctionsActs as an experienced writer and editor for internal and external publications, the UChicago Medicine website, content hub, and social media channelsWrites and edits internal and external communications (e.g., executive remarks, internet/intranet articles, newsletter content, marketing copy, etc.)Publishes final, approved content through internet/intranet content management systemEstablishes and maintains Department editorial standardsDevelops and implements internal and external communication plans for select internal clientsFosters a client-focused approachMaintains brand messaging for UCMC/BSDEvaluates communications plan success and reports findings to department leadersParticipates in process improvementPerforms other duties assignedRequired QualificationsBA or BS in communications, English, journalism, or related fieldThree (3) to six (6) years in communications or journalism fieldSkilled writer and editorDemonstrated ability to manage content management systems for web purposesExperience determining proper packaging and distribution content distribution strategies and tacticsWorks well with creative staff, administrators and academic medical professionalsKnowledge of various multimedia tools and platforms (including A/V, graphic design software, etc.)Able to work as part of a team as well as independentlyAble to juggle many tasks effectivelyKnowledge of AP styleDeadline-drivenPosition DetailsJob Type / FTE: Full Time (1.0 FTE)Shift: DaysJob Location: Hyde ParkUnit/Department: Nursing Pediatrics Admin – Hyde ParkCBA Code: Non-UnionAbout UsWe've been at the forefront of medicine since 1899.
