If you're experienced with spotting trailers and backing into tight dock doors, this is a solid 2nd-shift opportunity with steady hours and a fast-paced yard environment. You'll move trailers throughout the yard, support loading/unloading, and work outdoors in all weather while keeping operations running smoothly.

What You'll Do

• Safely move, spot, and back trailers into tight dock doors
• Operate yard trucks to position loaded and empty containers
• Coordinate trailer moves with warehouse and dock teams
• Support loading/unloading by placing trailers in correct locations
• Work outdoors in all weather while maintaining safety and pace
• Perform general yard labor tasks as needed
• Inspect equipment before use and report issues
• Follow all yard safety rules around trucks, trailers, and forklifts
• Adapt to rotating weekend/night hours when required

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 2+ years as a Yard Spotter or Truck Spotter
• Strong backing skills in tight dock areas
• Comfortable working outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and snow
• Experience with yard trucks, trailers, and containers
• Able to support warehouse loading/unloading flow
• Basic forklift familiarity
• Safety-minded and aware around heavy equipment
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Preferred Experience

• Logistics, warehouse, or distribution background
• Previous 2nd-shift or non-traditional schedule experience
• Ability to work rotating weekend/overnight hours
• Clear communication with yard and dock teams

Work Environment

• Primary schedule: 2:00 p.m. 10:30 p.m.
• Current rotating weekend/night hours:
  • Saturday: 5:00 p.m. 3:00 a.m.
  • Sunday: 11:00 p.m. 6:00 a.m.
• Safety-focused, fast-paced logistics setting
• Requires practical, weather-appropriate attire

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport News, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.50 - $25.50/hr.
