Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position requiring IL RN licensure, EPIC experience, and a minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
• 13-week contract assignment
• Night shift: 7:00PM-7:30AM
• 3 shifts per week at 12 hours per shift, totaling 36 hours weekly
• No block scheduling
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage on a rotation basis
• 2 call shifts required per 6-week schedule period
• Call shifts are 13 hours with expectation of onsite arrival within one hour
• Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing required
• Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Trauma Level 2 or higher experience preferred
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• ACLS certification (AHA) required
• PALS certification (AHA) required
• TNCC certification highly preferred

Additional Information

• Serve as primary caregiver for a designated group of ED patients, utilizing the nursing process to guide care
• Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with providers, patients, and families
• Implement and modify care plans based on continuous patient assessment and evolving needs
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care
• Promote patient and staff safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting hazards
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with staff, patients, and families to foster a healing environment
• Provide peer feedback and support ongoing professional development within the nursing team
• This is a high-risk department assignment
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days during the 13-week contract
