Director Of Payroll

A growing multi-entity organization is seeking a Senior Director of Payroll to lead payroll operations across North America. This individual will oversee payroll strategy, compliance, team leadership, process improvement, and payroll execution for a large, complex workforce.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead payroll operations across multiple entities and jurisdictions in the U.S. and Canada.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing.
• Serve as the payroll compliance and tax subject matter expert.
• Establish and strengthen payroll controls, policies, and audit readiness.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing payroll team.
• Drive process improvements, standardization, and operational efficiencies.
• Partner with Finance, HR, and Operations leadership on payroll-related initiatives.
• Support acquisitions, integrations, and other strategic business projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.
• 6+ years of payroll leadership experience, including leadership of complex, multi-entity payroll operations.
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax, compliance, and multi-jurisdiction payroll requirements.
• Experience managing payroll for diverse employee populations and compensation structures.
• Ability to manage confidential information with a high degree of discretion.
• Experience leading U.S. and Canadian payroll operations.
• Payroll certification (CPP, FPC, or equivalent).
• Experience with payroll system implementations, process optimization, and M&A integrations.
