What You'll Do

• Provide post-anesthesia care for adult and pediatric patients within a high-volume surgical environment
• Support patients undergoing a wide range of procedures, including regional anesthesia and ECT
• Float to pediatric PACU as needed, caring for pediatric and adult populations in pre/post-op stages
• Monitor and assess patient vital signs, comfort, and recovery progress using specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts and bladder scanners
• Collaborate with surgical teams across multiple specialties, including Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and Pulmonary Lab
• Follow established protocols to ensure patient safety and optimal recovery outcomes
• Document care accurately in electronic medical records (Epic experience required)

What You Need

• Active Louisiana RN license
• ACLS, BCLS, PALS certifications
• 1+ year PACU or Pre/Post Op experience (Critical Care Post Op preferred)
• Epic EMR experience

• Pediatric PACU experience
• Ability to float across multiple units and age groups
• Strong teamwork and communication skills

About the Assignment This role at a leading facility in New Orleans involves caring for all surgical and procedural patients in a busy PACU environment. The unit supports high-volume pediatric cases on the first floor and adult cases on the second, with services including regional anesthesia, ECT, and various outpatient surgeries. The RN will deliver safe, compassionate recovery care for patients of all ages and work collaboratively with diverse surgical teams to ensure smooth patient recovery.
