About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead its not-for-profit electric cooperative. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader with a strong background in distribution utilities, committed to the cooperative's values of trust, respect, transparency, inclusion, and accountability. The CEO will be responsible for carrying out the strategic vision of the cooperative, providing leadership and guidance to the Board of Directors, and ensuring that the day-to-day operations align with the company's mission and business objectives. Key leadership competencies include a commitment to cooperative values, integrity, a strong focus on safety, and exceptional interpersonal communication skills. The role also requires a solid understanding of the electric utility industry, particularly the unique business model of cooperatives, and a detailed knowledge of financial metrics and budget processes. Candidates for the CEO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree, with an advanced degree such as an MBA being a plus. A background in business, accounting, finance, or operations is preferred, along with at least 5 years of management experience and a similar duration in the electric utility sector. Experience in public power or electric cooperatives is highly valued. The successful candidate will be expected to have a proven track record of delivering strong organizational and business results, as well as a demonstrated ability to develop and mentor employees. The role is pivotal in creating a culture that fosters team building, and a cohesive work environment, and is conducted in accordance with the company's bylaws and policies.
