Operating from its Huntersville, North Carolina facility, JGA supports next-generation technologies for space and defense applications. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Position Summary The Quality Control Technician II independently performs dimensional inspection and quality-control activities for incoming, in-process, and completed products. This position requires demonstrated proficiency with CMM operation, precision measurement equipment, engineering drawings, inspection documentation, and identification of nonconforming conditions. Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Independently perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of manufactured and purchased components.• Set up and operate CMM equipment using established inspection programs and appropriate fixturing/setup techniques.
• Review and interpret CMM measurement data and identify results that do not meet specified tolerances. • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, dimensions, tolerances, and applicable GD&T requirements.
• Select and properly use appropriate precision measurement equipment based on the feature and tolerance being inspected.
• Perform dimensional inspection using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, indicators, and other inspection equipment.
• Record, review, and maintain accurate inspection and measurement results.
• Verify incoming material and product against purchase orders, drawings, specifications, certifications, and applicable quality requirements.
• Conduct final inspection to verify products meet applicable drawing, specification, documentation, and customer requirements prior to release.
• Compile and review quality documentation packages to ensure required records are complete, accurate, and traceable.
• Identify and document nonconforming product or inspection results and communicate findings to Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and other appropriate personnel.
• Support investigation and resolution of inspection discrepancies.
• Maintain required inspection records and traceability in accordance with JGA's Quality Management System. • Assist in training developing Quality Control Technicians on measurement techniques, inspection practices, and documentation requirements.
• Support continuous improvement activities related to inspection processes, measurement methods, and documentation. Qualifications • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree, certificate, or equivalent training preferred.
• Typically 2–5 years of quality inspection or related precision manufacturing experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency operating CMM equipment.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of GD&T.
• Demonstrated proficiency with precision hand measuring equipment.
• Experience performing receiving, in-process, and final inspections.
• Strong documentation and recordkeeping skills.
• Ability to independently identify and communicate nonconforming conditions.
• Experience working within a controlled Quality Management System. Preferred: Aerospace and defense manufacturing experience, AS9100 experience, advanced GD&T knowledge, and/or NDT experience or certification. Work Environment • Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, composite materials, dust, adhesives, solvents, and curing equipment.
• Required use of PPE including safety glasses, gloves, respirators (as required), and hearing protection.
