CT Technologist (CT Tech) The CT Technologist / CT Tech is responsible for performing CT scans, operating equipment, patient care, and image review. Key Responsibilities Perform CT Scans: Performs CT scans on various body parts, following established protocols, and positions patients for optimal imaging. Equipment Operation: Operates and maintains CT scanning equipment, including quality assurance checks and troubleshooting. Patient Care: Communicates with patients, prepares, comforts, and ensures their safety during procedures. Image Review and Quality: Reviews image quality, identifies potential issues, and collaborates with radiologists. Contrast Administration: Administers contrast materials and monitors patient responses. Documentation: Accurately documents procedures and maintains patient records. Minimum Qualifications Education: Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in both Radiography (R) and Computed Tomography (CT). Licensure/Certification: Active ARRT (R) (CT). Experience: One year of recent experience working as a CT Technologist / CT Tech. Skills: CT scanning proficiency, image processing, anatomy and physiology knowledge. Fast-Paced and Medical: Ability to handle a busy, often critical, medical environment including adapting to changing priorities and performing procedures in a timely manner. Patient Care: Explaining procedures to patients, preparing them for scans, and providing comfort and support. Teamwork: Works closely with physicians, nurses, and other medical staff, requiring effective teamwork and communication. Physical Demands: May need to stand for long periods, lift supplies, and move patients.
