Summary The Lower School Nurse manages the health and safety program for elementary students and staff, delivering direct clinical care, managing medical emergencies, and promoting wellness within a Christ-centered educational environment. Duties and Essential Functions Direct Care & Management: Provide direct nursing care, triage, and emergency first-aid management for student and staff injuries or acute illnesses. Health & Safety Promotion: Develop and implement health protocols to prevent illness, control communicable diseases, and promote student well-being. Medical Administration: Administer prescribed medications, maintain accurate student health records, and ensure compliance with state healthcare regulations. Health Education & Support: Serve as a subject-matter resource for faculty on health matters and assist in health instruction when appropriate. Community Engagement: Collaborate compassionately with parents, staff, and administration regarding student health concerns, displaying diplomacy and flexibility. Qualifications Valid, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the state of practice. Active CPR and AED certifications. Maintain personal Nursing Professional Liability Insurance. Sound clinical judgment, strong attention to detail, high confidentiality, self-motivation, and proficient computer skills. Previous nursing experience in pediatric care, school settings, or private education preferred. Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution.
