Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document patient evaluations and assessments, providing diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory treatment in a NICU setting
• Provide appropriate patient and family education, teaching, and support tailored to individual needs
• Identify and report significant changes in patient condition, communicating pertinent information to appropriate caregivers
• Complete all required documentation including order entry, EMR charting, medication records, patient safety/incident variance reports, and equipment repair tags per standard operating procedure
• Disassemble, clean, assemble, and perform preventative maintenance on respiratory equipment; tag and route equipment requiring repair or safety checks
• Responsible for the transport of infants to and from referral health systems, providing high-quality critical care in accordance with established patient care guidelines

Required Qualifications

• Respiratory Therapist licensure — North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care , required prior to start date
• Respiratory Therapist licensure — Minnesota Board of Medical Practice , required prior to start date
• Basic Life Support (BLS) — American Heart Association (AHA) , required prior to start date
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) — American Heart Association (AHA) , required prior to start date
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) — American Heart Association (AHA) , required prior to start date
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) — RQI Partners , required prior to start date

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience working in a NICU or neonatal critical care environment
• Experience with neonatal/infant transport between facilities
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and respiratory equipment maintenance protocols
